Assignment #2: "Netiquette" Do As I Say

Five reasons that will make me choose the right way of doing things in a digital society are:
1. I want to be happy so I will post and look at happy things.
2. Some cyber crimes can result in jail time and I do not want to go to jail.
3. If I post the wrong or bad things people will get a bad impression of me.
4. I would want credit for work I post so I will not download things illegally.
5. I don't want viruses or to spread them so I will stay on safe websites.

Assignment #1: "Netiquette" Online Standards of Service Use

5 companies that use the terms and service agreements or have major conditions before use would be Kijiji, Snap Chat, Twitter ,Facebook and Instagram. 5 services that teens should look into further or consider further before continuing to sign up would be, if they host your photo, they also own it. This means once you posted a photo on a social media site, an add might appear up of that picture with inappropriate drawings on it. This happens because you agreed to the terms of use of this site. Another service would be, you do not own what you bought. This means you aren't really buying the file, you are just buying a license to it. Another service is, they can turn your device into an expensive brick. This means you agreed that you promise not to mess with the software. Another service would be, Onstar is narcing you out. This means you agreed for OnStar to do what it advertises, it has to include a machine inside your car that tracks your every move. One more service would be itunes knows who you are and what you are doing. This means once you agree, Apple is able to see your precise location. I found all this information.

Journal Entry #3 (Digital Rights and Responsibilities)

Something I found most surprising when it comes to digital rights and responsibilities was how doing stuff online is similar to doing stuff in real life just like the 10 commandments. I do not think many people act responsible online because most people think that it's a free world online and think they can do what ever they want without getting into trouble. Not very many people follow the 10 digital responsibilities commandments. Out of the 10 commandments I created, the one I think is most important would be "You Shalt Not Cyberbully" because cyber bullying is a very serious issue and is the cause of many deaths from suicide and I think it is important for people to know the consequences of cyber bullying. I think the biggest issue around digital rights and responsibilities among young people would be, again the cyber bulling one because in today's society cyber bullying is a really big concern and it his happening all the time.

Assignment: Digital Rights and Responsibilities

Journal #2: Digital Communication

Something I found very interesting about digital communication was that there was a lot more acronyms and abbreviations then i realize that there would be, I will use some of  the new ones that i learned, now that I know what they mean. A few things I learned from the email etiquette would be not to use all caps in emails because  they said it seems like you are roaring at them . Another thing I learned is to always sign your name at the end of an email. Also I learned to make sure your attachments are put into the right format so people can open them a bit easier. The BCC is a copy of an email message sent to recipient whose email address does not appear. It is best to use the Blind Carbon Copy feature when sending to a large group of people. The biggest issue on digital rights and responsibilities in young people would be is cyber bullying. They think it is okay to harass and hurt people just because they are behind a screen and not face to face.

Assignment #2 (Acronyms Attack)

1. Three more acronyms/abbreviations can be WBU stands for What Bout You, SC stands for Snap Chat, and OIC stands for Oh I See.

2. 4 places I would never use acronyms or abbreviations digitally would be, texting my dad because never know what they stand for. Another place would be typing an essay or a story for school because it is bad grammer. Also through email because usually when I use email I am communicating with someone very proper or who wouldn't understand acronyms. I wouldn't use it in a resume for a job either.

Communication Compass (Assignment One)

1.Electronic exchanging of information is digital communication.
2. Four digital communication advantages are, keep in contact with people at all times, makes it easy to keep and eye on things such as your kids, it makes it easy to connect with people from all around the world no time and paper is wasted with writing letters. The four digital communication disadvantages are, people can hack into your digital life, you often don't think about what you are writing before you hit send, it is unreliable because it can not be recognized by a signature, and it makes your work portable so it then consumes peoples lives.
3. Three forms of digital communication that are popular today are, Email, cellphones/texting and video chatting. These three are the most popular because they are the most up to date and convenient, they allow technology right at our fingertips where and when we want it.
 4. Three forms of digital communication I think will not be around much longer are my space/email, different forms of social media, and land lines. I think these will no longer be around because we are growing around new forms of technology and the old stuff is growing old and nobody uses it.
5. Five locations where we should really not use digital communication are work place, at dinner/family gatherings, with close friends, with family that lives close to you, and school.
6. Two forms of digital communication that represent the greatest dangers are cyber bulling/bulling/internet abuse, and lack of privacy and security. These can easily occur when using the internet, bullies rarely think before they type and don't know what they say really can effect someone, also it is very easy for someone to get your personal information via the internet and on your social media accounts without you realizing.
7. I think human kids with continue to be more and more connected, they will grow up on technology and will never learn to live without it, they will rely on it, and the will become obsessed. I think this because once you have something in your life for such a long time everyday it becomes to imagine your life without it. So they would rather die than give up their cellphones.
8. If a person were to die and leave behind all their online communications I think they should put it in their will what they want done with their belongings, whether or not they want it destroyed or contributed to the internet. If they die unexpectedly then I think it should be up to their loved ones what to do with the information, for example if they didn't have the passwords then the online communication should be destroyed. I think what they want done with their digital communications should be entirely up to them, it's their work and it should be their choice.

Journal #1: Digital Security

I was very surprised when I found that there is a process to making a password. You have to have a secure password in order to keep your information safe from other people. I found it difficult that you need to have a password about a sentence long to keep hackers from hacking my stuff on the internet. It confuses me why someone would want to hack into someones personal belongings anyways. I think I have pretty secure password that no one would figure out. It is something that only I would know. The most important thing to think of while making a password is something long and meaningful to you so that you won't forget it.

Digital Security (Assignment One)

In the worst password list I think some of the passwords are very easy to guess, but there are a few that I would never guess in my life like abode123 for example and qwerty I  wouldn't ever think of either of those. From the list I have used some of these passwords like "1234", "000000" and "111111" I can honestly say that i never used any password like that before so i hope the passwords that i got not easy to guess. My thoughts about the list are it's pretty accurate. Yes I think seniors and adults are more likely to use these passwords because they want something simple to remember so they wont forget, like my father for example uses the same passwords for every thing. Things we can do to save them disastrous consequences would be to show them the list and convince him to change up his passwords. Another password I can relate to is "2468". In order for a modern password to be considered strong is it should not be just one word it should be a full sentence.

I found a app that will help you make music. I think it would be a very useful app for someone that's getting in the the music business and needs a little help getting going because i don't no anything about music and even i can make a little song with a half decent beat to it. I also got another app that would be good for games in you were doing a project and you needed a break for a while you can just play a game.
